Energy efficiency and renewable energy interventions in industrial facilities operating in the garment and fashion sector in the Gaza Strip.
This project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) – Palestine, in partnership with the Ministry of National Economy, and with funding support from the Government of Japan.
More than 50 applications were submitted to benefit from the project opportunities, resulting in the selection of 22 companies under the program for providing alternative energy solutions in factories, with the aim of reducing production costs and consequently enhancing the competitiveness of companies operating in the textile and garment sector.
The benefits of the proposed sustainable energy interventions were presented through a series of awareness workshops organized by UNIDO in the Gaza Strip, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of alternative energy solutions and their positive impact on production efficiency and factory sustainability.
These workshops witnessed strong participation, with more than 100 business owners from the garment and fashion manufacturing sector in Gaza taking part, reflecting the sector’s interest in adopting sustainable energy solutions and strengthening its resilience amid ongoing economic challenges.
