Khaitan Center Project

Khaitan Center Project

The Khitan Center Project was initiated to address a significant gap between the outputs of vocational training centers and the actual needs of the labor market, at a time when the textile and garment sector was facing a shortage of skilled and technically qualified workers necessary for expanding production and operations within this vital industry.

The Khitan Center was established in 2022, with funding from UNIDO, aiming to train and graduate young men and women specialized in various fields of garment manufacturing, including sewing, cutting, fashion design, pattern making, and other related technical skills, and to integrate them into the labor market through the factories of the Federation’s members.

The project aims to support and develop the textile and garment sector by establishing a specialized center focused on building technical and professional capacities, enhancing the efficiency of workers and graduates, and improving production quality in line with local market needs.

The center provides an integrated training and practical environment that enables beneficiaries to acquire both basic and advanced skills in sewing, design, and production processes, in addition to developing knowledge related to production management and workshop operations.

Furthermore, the project contributes to enhancing employment opportunities, supporting the sustainability of small and medium-sized factories, and empowering target groups—particularly youth and women—by linking practical training with real labor market requirements, thereby improving income levels and promoting professional stability.

The Khitan Center also serves as a supportive platform for the sector through cooperation with relevant stakeholders and the delivery of training and development programs that respond to the challenges facing the textile and garment industry, enhancing the competitiveness of local products and strengthening the sector’s resilience.
