The project directly aims to support women’s employment in the garment manufacturing sector by providing practical training and employment opportunities within factories, contributing to enhanced economic participation and improved professional stability for women.
During the first phase of the project, 145 women were employed in 20 factories within the garment sector under training contracts lasting up to six months.
The project covered trainees’ salaries fully during the first two months, 75% during the third and fourth months, and 50% during the fifth and sixth months, while the participating factories covered the remaining portion of the salaries.
The second phase of the project was scheduled to commence at the beginning of 2023, during which 110 women will receive 100 hours of theoretical and practical training in various garment and tailoring skills.
Following the training phase, the trainees will be placed in 12 factories under training contracts extending for six months, applying the same support mechanism used in the first phase.
The program also includes the rehabilitation and alignment of selected beneficiary factories to ensure a suitable working environment for women. In 2023, seven beneficiary factories will be rehabilitated to support women’s employment and ensure the sustainability of job opportunities and improved working conditions.
